Prairie Sourdough Co. is a small home-based microbakery in Devon, Alberta. Every loaf is baked fresh in small batches and prepared specifically for the week's orders.

Fresh Bread, Without the Extra Errand

There's something pretty lovely about having fresh bread show up at your door every week.

For seniors who don't want to make an extra trip into town. For working families getting home late. For busy parents with little ones in tow. Or honestly, for anyone who'd rather spend Thursday doing literally anything other than running to the grocery store for bread.

Order by Monday at noon, and your fresh loaf will be baked Thursday and delivered right to your door.

No grocery-store trip. No remembering to pick up bread. No dragging everyone out of the house for one thing you forgot.

Just good, fresh sourdough waiting on your doorstep.

With free Devon delivery on orders of $15 or more, you can make fresh local bread part of your weekly routine.

One less errand. One very good loaf of bread.

Devon Delivery

Deliveries are made Thursday between 5:00–6:00 PM.

Your order will be bagged, labeled, and left at your door unless you've provided different drop-off instructions.

No contact required.

How Delivery Works

  1. Place your order before Monday at noon.
  2. Select Delivery at checkout.
  3. Enter your delivery address and any useful drop-off instructions.
  4. Your bread is baked fresh Thursday.
  5. Your order is delivered between 5:00–6:00 PM.

Where Should I Leave Your Bread?

You can add a note at checkout, such as:

  • Leave on the front step
  • Leave on the porch
  • Leave by the garage
  • Please ring the doorbell

If no instructions are provided, your order will be left at your front door in a suitable bag.

A Note About Weather

Prairie weather is, well... prairie weather.

During periods of extreme heat or cold, please bring your bread inside as soon as possible after delivery.

Prairie Sourdough Co. isn't responsible for bread left outside after delivery.

Local Pickup

Prefer to pick up your bread? No problem.

Pickup is self-serve and no contact is required. Your order will be bagged, labeled, and ready for you in the designated pickup area.

The bakery is located in Devon, Alberta. Your pickup address and instructions will be provided in your Thursday pickup email.

Pickup is available Thursday from 5:00–6:00 PM.

No knocking required.

How Pickup Works

  1. Place your order online before Monday at noon.
  2. Select Pickup at checkout.
  3. On Thursday, you'll receive an email with the pickup address and instructions.
  4. Your fresh bread will be waiting for you in the designated pickup area.
  5. Grab your order and enjoy.

A Note About Weather

Bread doesn't particularly enjoy Alberta's extreme personality.

In very cold weather, please pick up your order promptly. Loaves left outside for extended periods may freeze. In hot weather, timely pickup is appreciated too.

Weekly Bake Schedule

MONDAY AT 12 pm NOON
Orders close. 

TUESDAY
Dough day.

WEDNESDAY
The dough gets its beauty sleep. Slow fermentation does its thing.

THURSDAY · 5:00–6:00 PM
Orders are baked fresh and packed. Then I get it ready for local pickup and free Devon delivery.

Small batches mean limited quantities each week.
